The views from the resort were breathtaking. The room was very clean and comfortable. The price of the room was excellent! It was a fantastic price for a solo traveler and could easily accommodate a couple or small family. I liked how available the inter-resort transportation was. The only noises I heard were from nearby wildlife and wind. Very quiet. All staff were helpful and friendly. My only concern was that housekeeping left my balcony door unlocked one day while I was out. The locks did not seem very secure either. (Only a small deadbolt on the main door and a push button lock on the balcony door).

We had a lovely stay at Villas Sol. At first I was concerned with the reports of the shuttle to the beach, and being situated on a hill, as I have some mobility concerns, but there was no problem. We had a lovely stay at Villas Sol. At first I was concerned with the reports of the shuttle to the beach, and being situated on a hill, as I have some mobility concerns, but there was no problem. We stayed in the hotel section, and the shuttle picked us up and dropped us off almost outside our door. It runs very regularly, so there was never a long wait. Despite there being relatively few beach chairs for the size of the resort, the most we had to wait for a chair was about 20 minutes. The trees made for lovely shade, and it is a beautiful beach without a big drop off getting into the water. We opted for breakfast included, and then could choose from other restaurants, or the snack bar, or purchase the buffet, or order from the a la carte menu in the restaurant. The open dining room was lovely for breakfast, and we ate most meals on the outside patio beside the restaurant. The service was friendly and fantastic from every staff member we encountered. The room was the most disappointing aspect of our stay. For example, none of the plugs near our beds worked. One of the overhead lights over the bed didn't turn off (it dimmed, but did not turn right off). But we did not want to stay in our room much, so it was a minor inconvenience. The sunset views from the balcony were spectacular. One big flag: We had initially booked (and paid for) two rooms, and later cancelled one. We received a confirmation email for the cancellation, but did not receive a refund. Despite emailing several times, and calling twice and being assured we would receive the refund within a week, it never arrived. We only managed to get it by being there in person, standing at the front desk, and presenting all of the information (two months after cancelling).
