“Amazing location, excellent food and service!”

Excellent service and great location hidden in the rain forest. The room was amazing with balcony looking out into the rain forest. The bed was super comfortable and room was very clean.

It's hard to put into words the experience we had here--it was stellar from the moment we arrived until the last minute with welcome drinks and cool towlels to start. The staff is not only attentive and helpful, they are kind and they truly go out of their way to make sure the experience is perfect. From a personalize candelit dinner by the pool deck (when we failed to get reservations at the Asian fusion restaurant), to coordinating a driver to get us to the national park to great service at every breakfast...indulging every question about their food, and customs and sharing tid bits along the way. The rooms are stunning and well apointed. The beds are devine...outdoor shower lush. Everything was just perfect. And a special thank you to Josue and Nelson for making it extremelty memorable for us!! One for the ages for sure!

We quickly realized our mistake — we had only booked one night. Hideaway Rio Ce-leste Hotel is exactly what it promises: a hidden gem. It is beautifully integrated into nature, with trails that in some cases start directly at the hotel. We took the opportuni-ty to hike the Tapir Trail despite the rain. We didn’t see a tapir — but we smelled one. That, too, can be an experience. The rooms are very cozy and invite you to relax and stay awhile. What we found excep-tional was the Mandarina Restaurant: outstanding Asian cuisine in the Costa Rican jungle. Not only was the food excellent, but so was the service in the café and the can-tina. We may very well return.

“Beautiful hotel in stunning setting”

This is a stunningly beautiful resort in the rain forest. The gardens and trails are lush and green and inhabited by many wonderful creatures. The rooms are lovely and well appointed. This is a stunningly beautiful resort in the rain forest. The gardens and trails are lush and green and inhabited by many wonderful creatures. The rooms are lovely and well appointed. Unfortunately I did not find the bed comfortable at all. I believe our room had a very old mattress. Breakfast is included and the buffet was wonderful with plenty of fresh choices. Try the green juice. It is excellent. Service at all meals was extremely attentive and professional. We ate lunch at the pool and it was very nice. We ate dinner in both restaurants and really enjoyed the food. Everything is priced in US dollars which make all ready expensive meals eye openingly expensive. We did go to the bar one evening. We were the only ones there. I think the prices were to blame. Markups on wine are huge, in the range of 10 times the price in Canada on some very basic selections. I would recommend hiking the trails on site and the night hike. Both were excellent. We also hike to the Rio Celeste waterfall and beyond. The hotel arranged a taxi that failed to return for us. It was difficult to get back and quite frustrating. The waterfall and the hike there is manageable and worth the hike. I would not recommend going beyond the waterfall as the hike becomes quite difficult and dangerous with slippery rocks to negotiate. This hotel is very expensive but lovely and we thought worth the splurge.
