“A True Rainforest Experience with Amazing People and Wildlife”

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Esquinas Rainforest Lodge. The lodge itself is beautiful — simple, authentic, and completely immersed in nature. The rooms are not overly luxurious, but they are extremely charming, very well maintained, comfortable, and perfectly fit the atmosphere of the rainforest. One of the best parts of the experience was the incredible wildlife all around the property. The area is amazing for birdwatching, amphibians, and nature lovers in general. Everywhere you look there is life, sounds, colors, and rainforest atmosphere. The food was another highlight. Everything felt fresh, healthy, homemade, and prepared daily. Simple in the best possible way, with great quality ingredients and consistently delicious meals throughout our stay. A very special mention goes to Kevin, who was our guide during both the hike around the property and the night walk. He was absolutely fantastic — incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about nature. He explained so many things to us and helped us spot an amazing variety of wildlife, especially during the night walk where we saw frogs, amphibians, insects, and many other creatures we would never have noticed ourselves. You can really feel how much he loves what he does. Another special mention goes to Julia from Ecocentro Calatea. Her garden is absolutely stunning, full of beautiful plants and bird feeders attracting an incredible variety of birds. We managed to take some fantastic photos there. Julia was extremely welcoming, patient, and generous with her time. She showed us around the garden, explained many things about the local flora and fauna, and shared her deep knowledge and passion for the area. It was honestly one of the highlights of our time there. We also want to thank Gabriela, who welcomed us from the moment we arrived and was always kind, enthusiastic, available, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. She made us feel immediately comfortable and was always happy to help with anything we needed, always with a smile and positive energy. The entire staff made us feel welcomed from the very beginning and helped create a very warm, authentic experience. This place is a paradise for people who truly love rainforest, wildlife, birds, photography, and nature. We would absolutely recommend it.

“The best lodge of our trip.”

A fantastic lodge in wonderful surroundings. Food was the tastiest of all the other lodges we stayed at. “Lovely rain forest lodge”

Stayed here for two nights as part of our Exodus Discover Costa Rica tour. Excellent location. “Beautiful lodge in the rainforest”

We had 2 nights here as part of a group tour and loved it. It was amazing to be in the middle of the rainforest, with just mesh on the windows so you can hear all the wildlife throughout the night.
