As a travel advisor, I’ve had the opportunity to experience many exceptional properties, but Hotel Belmar truly stands in a class of its own. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was extraordinary. The staff went above and beyond in every way, remembering our names throughout our stay and adding thoughtful, personal touches that made us feel genuinely cared for. Each evening, turndown service included handwritten notes and soothing tea sourced directly from their garden, which created such a warm and intimate experience. The culinary program is equally impressive. Every meal is thoughtfully prepared using ingredients from their own farm, delivering a true farm-to-table experience. As someone with celiac disease, I was incredibly impressed by how accommodating and knowledgeable the team was—ensuring I could fully enjoy each meal without concern. The cocktails and wine selection were also standout! And you absolutely must try the banana-infused Old Fashioned, I’ll be dreaming about it long after returning home. We stayed in one of the newer villas, and I highly recommend this option for both couples seeking a romantic escape and families looking for extra space and privacy. The design throughout the property is stunning, rich teak wood, beautifully curated interiors, and a seamless connection to the surrounding natural environment. Beyond the accommodations, the experiences on property are just as memorable. We enjoyed massages, visited the on-site brewery, and listened to live music in the evenings. One of my favorite moments was sitting on the restaurant’s porch, overlooking the cloud forest with views stretching all the way to the ocean! Hotel Belmar is the perfect blend of luxury, sustainability, family owned and run, and authentic Costa Rican charm. For clients seeking a unique, elevated experience in Monteverde, this is a property I will confidently and enthusiastically recommend time and time again.

They truly make you feel special throughout your stay and returning the beautiful property every day makes it feels as though you're coming home. The property grounds are beautiful and the restaurant patio is to die for. Not spending every single morning sipping coffee from that restaurant patio would be a mistake. Thank you to Hotel Belmar for an unforgettable 4 days.
