On this review, I was asked if I went for Business, with couples, family or friends. It is hard to answer, on the most recent trip last week; I was at Botanika for work with people who are like family. Going to Botanika, well it’s taking my family and friends not on vacation, but we all go home to our other family. When you arrive, it’s just like pulling in your driveway after you’ve been gone for a while. Whether you have been there before or not, you are greeted with a hug, a hundred smiles and a beautiful song. When you blend the hard work and love of everyone at Botanika with a warm welcome, topped off with the natural essence of the OSA Peninsula; you’re just home with your family rather than on vacation.

“Awesome stay!”

We loved our stay! The staff was amazing and so helpful, genuine and kind! The grounds, amenity’s and rooms were great. Our family, with three 20-something young adult kids, totally enjoyed! We loved our stay! The staff was amazing and so helpful, genuine and kind! The grounds, amenity’s and rooms were great. Our family, with three 20-something young adult kids, totally enjoyed! If we had a negative it would be the cost of food/drinks in the main restaurant. However, we had a kitchen so we cooked in and also went and explored local places to eat. The cost of excursions was way less booked off property, so would recommend shopping around for your activities. Definitely recommend and hope to be back again one day!

“Best place to stay in Puerto Jiminez”

The best hotel in the area, though the three 'tower blocks' for accommodation were a bit out of keeping. Decent food in the restaurant, and not cheap, but everyone helpful and friendly. We had tours booked so didnt use the pool, but still a great place to stay.

We would not recommend this resort as a destination in and of itself. Unless you plan to be on the Osa peninsula anyway, your time in beautiful Costa Rica is better spent elsewhere. We would not recommend this resort as a destination in and of itself. Unless you plan to be on the Osa peninsula anyway, your time in beautiful Costa Rica is better spent elsewhere. Disclaimer: we stayed over New Year's Eve, so it was very busy.  First, the resort bills itself as a "luxury" eco-resort, so our expectations were already set for disappointment.  The grounds and rooms/suites are fine, but not at all "luxury."  Breakfast was mediocre (although HH Diamonds get a free bloody mary or mimosa) with overcooked eggs and stale pastries.  The food at the bar was lackluster.  Poolside drinks are standard CR (inflated tourist) prices.  The resort itself is just not that special.  Yes, it is set amidst tropical flora and fauna, but the hotel itself felt like an intrusion into nature.  To make matters worse, the built environment is sterile and boring.  The hotel was packed with families while we were there with kids running amok, screaming and playing catch across the pool.  If you've got kids, I'm sorry. If you do plan to stay here, I would suggest you eat offsite at Hard Croc or, better yet, Aventuras Cafe.  The latter is a pleasant 10-minute walk.  It's only open until 6pm. FYI, getting there was easier than expected.  Upon arrival, we zipped through immigration and made our way to the domestic terminal within ten minutes.  Granted, we were among the first off the plane and didn't check any bags.  When we got to the domestic terminal, the Sansa desk didn't mind putting us on an earlier flight.
