“Fabulous hotel in a great location”

First visit to this hotel but will definitely return. Immaculately clean in all areas. Restaurants fantastic, especially the buffet starters and desserts in Roots and Origins Breakfast buffet has to be one of the best ever and we have tried many around the world. First visit to this hotel but will definitely return. Immaculately clean in all areas. Restaurants fantastic, especially the buffet starters and desserts in Roots and Origins Breakfast buffet has to be one of the best ever and we have tried many around the world. Access to the beach was just a short walk through the garden and across a road, what a super beach, spotless and clean and ideal for a morning walk. Staff in the hotel were super and though not much English spoken we always managed to converse with a smile. The hotel also has just the best sunset view from the roof top bar. Already looking forward to a return visit.

Things we loved..... The decoration in the communal areas and the landscaping of the exterior are both gorgeous. Swimming pool lovely. No noisy music and very chilled vibes throughout the hotel. Things we loved..... The decoration in the communal areas and the landscaping of the exterior are both gorgeous. Swimming pool lovely. No noisy music and very chilled vibes throughout the hotel. Breakfast was very good, varied and extensive. Particularly liked the pancakes and eggs. Some of the hot choices were not very hot - but this always seems to be a problem with all buffets wherever we stay to be fair. Facilities were good - even used the gym which is not our norm 😂 Indoor pool was handy during rainy periods. Things we liked.... Evening meals were generally good. Liked the al la carte main course idea but despite all being good quality, not much variety - especially dessert which was very repetitive. A chocolate tart and a pistachio cheesecake were around longer than some of the guests! Our room was very nicely decorated but smallish and not helped by being somewhat over furnished. We had the cheapest room and the view was non existent but with the short days in autumn, wasn't a problem as sitting on the balcony wasn't a major appeal. Aircon was very inefficient - not much of an issue in October, but might have been a problem in August. We wondered whether the central controls are altered dependent on the season. Shower excellent. Nice Nespresso machine in addition to kettle. Free water was only supplied initially on check in but on mentioning this to the guest experience lady, it was reinstated free of charge for the remainder of the stay. Lovely walk through gardens to the beach via a couple of wooden bridges and boardwalks. Things we didn't like.... Not much to be fair other than the above food related stuff. Staff interaction was generally very good - the customer experience people were all wonderful - especially Julia- but there were a few surly people too. One lady in the pool bar never smiled once! A few language problems as some staff don't have English but that's fine. I also remind myself that when on holiday, I'm the foreigner not them! Gave me a chance to try out my embarrassingly poor Spanish which gave my wife a laugh at least. It was a walk of about 20 minutes to the old town which wasn't ideal - nothing much else nearby apart from other hotels and a few beach restaurants. Summing up, we would stay again and felt that it was good value but a few tweaks would make it perfect. Show less
