Even though swimming pool, grounds, and lobby were under construction, room was beautiful, service was great. We were informed of the construction and given option to cancel. Room was spacious and tastefully designed. They had set up a lounge area with free drink and snacks. This property is located in the San Roque Golf club, so you can access the restaurant. During reservation I had mention that it will be lovely to stay in the room where Ryder cup team stayed . To our pleasant surprise, we were given the room where the Captain of the USA Ryder Cup 1997 team had stayed. As a golfer this made our stay special and memorable. Thank you to all staff for making our stay comfortable.

“Stylish new hotel with wonderful pool”

As I’ve mentioned before, this end of the Costa del Sol has surprisingly few truly good hotel options, so it’s great to see another property open in the region. Although construction isn’t yet fully complete, most of the complex is now operational. I may be mistaken, but it felt as though we were experiencing something of a soft opening. The owners have done an excellent job transforming a 1970s golf resort into a stylish, contemporary hotel, centred around a large and inviting pool. The rooms are beautifully renovated—spacious, bright, and thoughtfully designed. That said, a few small details still need attention, likely due to the ongoing works. The bathrooms, for instance, lack hooks or racks for towels. The terrace outside our room was in need of repainting or a good pressure wash. Around the pool, the redecorated lounging area is very attractive, but the pool itself still bears its dated 1970s mosaic tiling, which could benefit from refurbishment. For the most part, the staff were warm and friendly. However, the breakfast team seemed overwhelmed by the number of guests, and their brusque manner didn’t quite match the otherwise beautiful surroundings. Perhaps this was the first weekend the hotel had been at full capacity? Just as the physical space still requires finishing touches, it seems the service would benefit from additional training to match the high standard the hotel is aiming for. Regardless, these are minor wrinkles that will no doubt be ironed out in the weeks and months ahead. In short, this is a welcome and much-needed addition to this stretch of coast, and we look forward to returning.

“Disappointing Stay Marred by Pest Problem and Poor Hygiene”

Our recent stay at the hotel started with high hopes, especially given the excellent facilities. The pool area was fantastic, offering a refreshing escape, and the restaurant provided delicious meals with a pleasant ambiance. The hotel staff was also very accommodating. We were initially very impressed with these aspects of our experience. However, our positive impression was unfortunately shattered by a significant cockroach problem that completely ruined our stay. Right from the start, we noticed hairs in the bathroom and dirt under the bed, which immediately suggested that the overall hygiene was not up to par. This initial observation already made us question the cleanliness. On our last night, we discovered a cockroach in our room. When we contacted the front desk, we were dismayed to be told that we should find and deal with it ourselves. This initial response was incredibly unhelpful and left us feeling unsupported, especially as we were traveling with our 6-month-old baby, which made the situation even more uncomfortable and concerning. While the staff did eventually come to our room and deal with the first cockroach once we located it, the damage was already done. To our further dismay, we found another cockroach the very next morning. This recurring issue, combined with the earlier hygiene concerns, made our final hours at the hotel incredibly unsettling and uncomfortable. What was particularly frustrating was that the hotel did not even attempt to compensate the situation with anything, despite the significant distress caused. We had expected a much higher level of service and proactiveness, particularly concerning hygiene and guest comfort, especially given the presence of an infant. This experience fell far short of our expectations for a relaxing and pleasant vacation. I wish that the hotel improves this aspect for future customers.
