“Lovely staff and great breakfast”

I chose this hotel for the wrong reasons and that is not the hotel's fault. I am walking the Camino de Santiago and worried about the length of the day's hike looked for a hotel of the near side of town which is how I settled on the Vista Alegre. It worked for that but was about 2 km from the centre of the town so I ended up walking in and back again the day of arrival to see the famous church and then in again the following morning to pick up the Camino again. Not the best choice for my needs. However, for those arriving with a car this would be a useful hotel with easy parking and good standards. It occupies the bottom few floors of a tall block of apartments which is strange in itself. Reception is at ground level and hotel rooms on the next 2 floors. The receptionist was charming and helpful. She couldn't do enough for me including taking me to the breakfast restaurant to make sure that I knew how to switch on the lights and work the coffee machine when I came for breakfast before it had officially started in the morning. She also suggested that if I didn't't feel like eating to package up what I wanted and take it with me. Over and above any service received in the 10 other hotels that I have used since beginning the Camino. My room was pretty standard 3-star hotel. A good size with a big and comfortable bed and clean. the bathroom was a bit tired but a good size with the shower over a tub. There was also a mini-fridge containing a couple of bottles of water. What I didn't like was that the window opened onto a terrace that led from the lift to the door in to the room's hallway meaning that if the shutter was up anyone traveling from the lift to their hotel room had a full view into my room. That meant a choice between being on display and sitting in the dark. I chose the former but didn't feel very good about it. Rooms on the next floor up would be a better choice. Overall, the Vista Alegre is a reasonably priced hotel with good standards and great staff. It is worth asking for a 2nd floor room for privacy.

Stayed for 1 night, the Hostel is situated quite a distance from the centre of town, it is in a residential area, near to the Football ground. Stayed for 1 night, the Hostel is situated quite a distance from the centre of town, it is in a residential area, near to the Football ground. As I travelled by motorcycle, I was delighted by the provision of secure parking in a garage across the road. The room was clean, but noisy, you can hear so much noise from the accommodation around it. Ana the receptionist was lovely on my arrival, so helpful with advice etc. All in all I would not give it more than an average rating, as the decor is tired, and as I mentioned very noisy.

“Budget hotel”

You need to remember that this is a budget hotel so there are absolutely no frills. Upsides? Lovely towels and a good shower. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Good, free, secure parking. Downsides? You need to remember that this is a budget hotel so there are absolutely no frills. Upsides? Lovely towels and a good shower. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Good, free, secure parking. Downsides? The all-pervading musty smell in the corridor and into the room. No air-conditioning. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 11am - I put that as a downside as we had to leave to catch a ferry at 8am. Walls as thin as paper so you can disturb and be disturbed by noise between the rooms.

“The walls are too thin ”

Stayed here for one night. The staff was very nice but omg I heard all night noises from the room above and next to me. All I want is a quiet room and not the neighbour on the phone or the one above moving his chair each 10 seconds. The location is approx 250m from the beach so if you are bad at… lisää
