Beautiful modern hotel with lovely sea views, two nice pools (one roof infinity pool) and nice bars. Half hour walk from San Antonio bay or a short boat taxi ride (which leaves directly from outside the hotel) straight to the egg area of the marina in San Antonio. Staff were always happy to help, breakfast has a very varied select to choose from (though the coffee machines are so slow!) Only grizzle is the furniture is really noisy to move on the floors so if anyone in the hotel moves something at 3 o’clock in the morning your likely to hear it! Shame as the rooms are lovely.

This is a very nice hotel, breakfast was lovely with lots of choice, the pool and beach area is excellent with very comfy sun loungers. The rooms are nice and very clean with excellent views. This is a very nice hotel, breakfast was lovely with lots of choice, the pool and beach area is excellent with very comfy sun loungers. The rooms are nice and very clean with excellent views. Just a couple of things that would make this hotel 5 stars are, after a long journey it would be nice to be offered a drink on arrival, even water would have been suffice. The only other thing that would have been ideal is a robe in the bedrooms. Overall the staff are excellent, the water taxi to San Antonio is very efficient and the hotel is very well managed.

“Great hotel but has it's downfalls”

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel, we stayed last year for honeymoon and returned this year for 5 nights. This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel, we stayed last year for honeymoon and returned this year for 5 nights. Positives - comfy beds - Good air con - helpful reception desk - clean rooms with good views and the hotel smells amazing - Great breakfast and we enjoyed 1 evening of half board Negatives - pool staff/bar was a nightmare this time round, wrong orders, mixing things up, bringing our chopsticks and dipping sauce an hour after we ate our sushi, slow service, unable to make alternative mocktails (presumably because they come pre made...) . It's ashame because it's not exactly a cheap hotel and such an easy thing to get right (you would think)

Having stayed at the Amare last year, I was looking forward to returning for a week. I was more than surprised that, similar to other reviews here, many small changes have been made to cut corners and costs obviously. It’s just not the same hotel that it once was. Add to that the extortionate price for, quite frankly, bland and tasteless food & cocktails, at the pool and in the evening and it all adds to me not returning again. My friend was charged E2 for some ketchup to go with her french fries - which already cost E9. We couldn’t believe it when we saw the bill. I had a similar experience with bread (costing me a total of E7 when I wanted a piece of bread only) and the staff pretty much agreed when we got a pizza and said it was awful. It’s really poor. To be honest, I felt ripped off and charged every step of the way, for even the smallest of things. I had access to the lounge for a couple of days of my trip. Again, I wouldn’t bother if you’re thinking about it. The food was awful and not replenished. It didn’t change all day pretty much (stale sandwiches and leftover pastries from breakfast mainly) and wasn’t a patch on other lounges I’ve been in. They are also only open from 12 - 8, with many people who are enjoying the lounge being cleared out at 8pm - it’s far too early for this lounge to close. The interrogation of the pool staff when you requested a towel is also an unwelcome addition. I spent a total of one day at the pool and left my lounger for 40 mins or so at one stage. When I returned, my towel was removed and it was gone - which I hadn’t a problem with, I think that’s the right policy and should be enforced everywhere. But it didn’t seem to be enforced consistently as many loungers were ‘bagged’ when you were heading into breakfast with no one on them. I also didn’t appreciate the staff asking me constantly where I was going to use the towel. I’m not a child and this is supposed to be a holiday! On a positive note, the staff (which clearly understaffed, as some of them told me, but it was obvious) are fantastic and lovely people. Nazareth does a fantastic job at the front desk dealing with problems as does the lovely man who works constantly making everyone’s eggs in the morning with a smile on his face. My room was also lovely and I enjoyed it. It was also clear that the housekeeping staff were understaffed though as surfaces were missed to be wiped daily. Also, I had requested a double room and did not get it. When it was changed to a double bed, a sheet was placed over two twin beds, a poor effort. Tim to look for a new hotel in Ibiza…..
