“Well worth it.”

We had a great time at Camp Shawu. The lodge was beautiful and well located to see wildlife. Too bad the watering hole in front our room was dry, not enough rain. We still saw some animals and birds there. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and his eyes to spot animals and birds was exceptional.… lisää

We had a great time at Camp Shawu. The lodge was beautiful and well located to see wildlife. Too bad the watering hole in front our room was dry, not enough rain. We still saw some animals and birds there. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and his eyes to spot animals and birds was exceptional. Besides elephants, giraffes, kudu, wildebeast, baboons, hippos, crocs and impalas we even saw 3 cheetahs and a leopard. The senior chef and camp manager Steven was very kind and helpful. We ate well and alot.

“Camp Shawu”

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a group. Steven and staff made sure our stay was fabulous, food incredible and so much! Our guides Solomon and Simon went above and beyond on our safari's. Cannot speak highly enough of them all.

Wow what an amazing experience at Camp Shawu, such an incredible setting, right on the dam, with animals coming throughout the day. The staff are absolutely amazing, I have stayed at many lodges and the service is one of the best I’ve had . Steven ( the manager) went out of his way to welcome us and help us and make us feel at home. Our guide Sifiso was one of the best we’ve had, he was extremely knowledgeable and found some great sitings! Cons: The lodge is a little bit tired and in need of some maintenance. With a bit of work done it would bring its rating up to a 5. The biggest problem was the food , breakfast and lunch was great , but dinners weren’t the best , it could do with a revamp. Overall , we would highly recommend this lodge and we will definitely return :)

“African Safari, the trip of a lifetime.”

We were recently lucky enough to spend 4 nights at Camp Shonga. While the camp itself is a little dated and in need of some maintenance our stay was unforgettable due to the staff and a bed that you would die for. From our welcome cocktails., to being greeted with warm face towels after each safari Patience and Sarah catered to our every need. Their sole focus was on our comfort and happiness, while Mulala our Chef ensured that we were never hungry, food was more than plentiful, varied and well prepared. Our safari guide Texon was exceptional in his knowledge of the Park and expertise in all aspects of safari. We did 7 safaris in total and Tex made each one feel unique, finding the Big Five within our few days while also seeing an abundance of other animals such as Hyena, Jackals, Impalas, Wilderbeast, Hippos and many others. Our “Sundowner” drinks and snacks were a highlight seeing the magnificent South African sunset from a different location each night. If asked, given the opportunity, would we do it again, the answer would be yes definitely and we would not change a thing. Michael and Janelle
