“Relazing Getaway In Long Island Bahamas”

“Harbor Breeze Villas…a hidden gem!”

We stayed at Harbor Breeze Villas from July 27th to August 1st 2023. This is a Hidden Gem. We were visiting Long Island for my family reunion and one of my cousins who was on the reunion planning committee, recommended Harbor Breeze Villas for our stay. She had never stayed here either. So none of us knew what to expect except what we saw online from the website. We are from New York, so we had to travel to Nassau first on July 26th, (overnight in Nassau) , and then fly from Nassau to Long Island on Bahamasair. Upon arrival in the small Long Island Airport (the airport is only as big as a small house), we picked up our rental vehicle. We rented from Mr. T car rental so our rental vehicle was waiting for us at the airport! From the airport we made a left and drove about 17 mins South to the Harbor Breeze check in office in Clarence Town. (There is no check in counter at the actual Villas so you have to check in at different location). We were met with the smiling face of Victoria we confirmed our reservation, checked us in and processed payment. (You pay at the beginning of your stay…not after) . I had other family members with me at the time so they also checked in with Victoria. She then handed us each our Villa keys and proceeded to her car and told us to follow her. We left the check in office and drove another 5-6 mins to Harbor Breeze Villas! Victoria showed us all to our villas and then left us to explore. We stayed in the Sunrise Villa, one of my cousins stayed in the Atlantic Breeze Villas (a two bedroom Villa), and another one of my cousins stayed in the Paradise Villa. The villas are built on a large property so although they were well spaced apart….they were still within walking distance to each other along shaded paths. The Villa itself was absolutely Stunning….. the Sunrise Villa is one of the highest elevated Villas and had an incredible ocean view and a view of Lochabar blue hole. It’s a 1-bedroom Villa with a full kitchen (cooking Utensils included), full living room (couch, love seat, and single chair), a dining area (seats 4), a king-sized double bed (which slept three of us comfortably with room to stretch) and a spacious bathroom. The balcony also came equipped with two lounge chairs, two sitting chairs and a small coffee table for outside lounging. Outside the Villa is a small hose attached to a shower head for easy rinsing off of beach sand and salt water. There were two flat screen tv’s in the Villa: one in the bedroom and one in the living room. A telephone and pretty much anything else you would need for a comfortable stay. The Villa also came with two complimentary bottles of wine (one red, one white), beach towels, and a small cooler bag to keep drinks ice cold. We found out our very first morning how this Villa got its name: Sunrise Villa……we were able to catch spectacular sunrises EVERY morning as we enjoyed our morning coffee. The premises also boast a beautiful beach which we did enjoy, that came along with complimentary kayaks for exploring the ocean and paddle boards for those who wanted to try it. Beach chairs, and beach umbrellas were available for guests as well. The property was well maintained and we heard maintenance work being done on a consistent basis while we were there. I have seen some reviews that complained about the noise but while were there the noise was bearable and did not take away from our experience. That could also be because we are from New York and accustomed to lots of noise. The cleaning staff was super friendly which we loved. They tried as much as possible to satisfy our requests for anything extra. Shelly, was the lady who helped us to get a cooler bag and showed us where the laundry facilities were. Cons: 1) TV, phones and Wi-Fi did NOT work. There was no sense of urgency to get it fixed or to find a solution. We asked if we could be moved to another Villa that had Wi-Fi but they said that the other Villas were booked. They never got the TV’s or phones working, and never reached out to us about the Wi-Fi. but they eventually got the Wi-Fi up and running on Saturday night (three days into our trip) but this put a big drag on our trip as we had no other way of communicating with family members. Which meant that we had to drive to our family members anytime we had questions or concerns. (Wasting gas). 2) Ants and baby lizards: if you left anything out at all there would be a long trail of ants devouring whatever it was you left out. This could be crackers, bread, tea….we had to throw away a lot of our foods because of this and ended up putting everything in the refrigerator. We had two baby lizards in the Villa and had to kill them. 3) Cleanliness: the living room rug had not been vacuumed, the corners of the rooms had piles of dirt and the bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned as we found the left over used soaps in the shower from the previous guests, and the toothbrush holder still had toothpaste residue in it. 4) needs blackout curtains for the living/dining/kitchen area. No matter how long we left the air conditioner on the living room/kitchen/dining area still felt hot. Pros: 1) all villas have an amazing view 2) gorgeous beach access and beach amenities 3) lush greenery and landscaping allows for privacy 3) friendly staff at the resort 4) great value (we booked on Expedia for a total cost of $440) 5) great central location so close to some of the main Long Island attractions including Dean’s Blue Hole.

“Gem of a beach resort”

Beautiful resort well maintained other then a few small needed upgrade like screen repairs and windows that don’t open , ceiling fans blade flew off while in use but luckily no one was struck by it , could also use some room darkening curtains . “We saw a flock of flamingos in flight!”

Great views, clean rooms and in walking distance to the most beautiful beach. The bed in my room was so comfortable! I slept like a baby every night. Note there are no restaurants on property and limited cable tv but access to streaming services is available. The wifi connection was strong! Great… lisää

“Beautiful Island and property”

Beautiful property and well maintained and appointed, they call it a resort but is lacking a restaurant and fitness center, hopefully the new addition will include these amenities. Can’t wait to return in 2023 !The Island is super relaxing and the Bohemians are gracious, Must visit Earnest at the B… lisää
