Porta Barensa has a great downtown location, yet it is located in a quiet street, so that there is is no noise at night. In this beautifully restored building, we had a large room with all expected amenities. The staff were nice and helpful, though they spoke little English. If breakfast could have been slightly more elaborate, all produce were fresh and tasty. Furthermore, the value of this B&B was excellent. If you wish to stay in downtown Bitonto, this is an excellent option.

nice place, warm and clean with a fast WF.What it will be consider as minus is that the owner didn't speak English and we had to call another lady to translate. He drove us to the station with a small tip which was great. i recommend.

My family stayed in the Porta Baresana for 5 nights while visiting my stepmother's family for Easter. Staying in the room were three adults. Overall we were very pleased with this B&B; however, noise was an issue. We stayed in the Baresana Suite which had a wonderful of the tower and square but the piazza was a gathering place for locals in the evening and the noise easily traveled up to the room. The staff was very accommodating. We arrived early in the morning (0730) and they welcomed us in and allowed access to our room with no extra charge. This was wonderful as we were able to shower and refresh ourselves before heading off to visit family. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also very large and had a wonderful shower. During our travels in Italy this was the most spacious hotel room we had the pleasure to stay in. The room had a queen sized bed and a single bed that can serve as a couch if not needed as a bed. The breakfast provided was delightful. Each morning we were served by Giacomo who was very good at anticipating our needs. After the first morning he automatically brought us out our favoured drinks and in my father's case multiple cappuccinos. The best part of the breakfast were the delicious fresh out of the oven croissants. These were to die for. There were three flavors: chocolate, almond and peach. Fruit yogurt and other pastries were also provided. The B&B does have secure parking. It is not next to the hotel but is only a few minutes away. I made good use of the WI-FI. I was not able to access it from my room most of the time as the signal did not reach. Instead I had to go out to the common room which was just outside of my room. This worked for my needs but may not for somebody needing to conduct business. I would recommend a stay in this beautiful B&B. However, if you are a light sleeper perhaps request a room that does not face the piazza or pack ear plugs.
