Stayed here for a week in July 2015. We were more than happy with the place and especially with the warm welcome from the owners. Since we traveled around by car, the location was perfect, 5-10min walk to old town (you can't drive in old town). The room had a working kitchen, tv and Wi-Fi. We arrived very late and where happy to find a welcome pack with some basic products like milk, water, coffee. We can recommend the place to everyone, all in all, great place, great host, great value for money.

Hello, We went to Alghero for our honeymoon and stayed in il Giardinetto apartment. Our reception was wonderful. The owner, Vincenza, welcomed us with traditional Sardinian fresh food and bottle of wine. From the first moment we felt the warm hearted and family atmosphere of this place. Apartment offered everything we needed for a pleasant stay, room and place was always tidy and secure. We had umbrella and bicycles free of charge. If you go to beaches, prices for umbrella can be up to 10 euros per day, and renting bicycle is also pricey (don't remember rates). Location is not directly in the center of town, but only few minutes walk will get you to the center of all historic places, fancy restaurants and gift shops. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this town and the il Giardinetto accommodation. We have very good memories, can't say anything negative about this place, owners and staff. Greetings from Slovakia.

Il Giardinetto makes the perfect base for exploring Alghero. There is everything you could need in the apartment- well equipped kitchen, living area, good size bedroom, a decent bathroom with lots of hot water, and a little balcony where you could dry clothes. Il Giardinetto makes the perfect base for exploring Alghero. There is everything you could need in the apartment- well equipped kitchen, living area, good size bedroom, a decent bathroom with lots of hot water, and a little balcony where you could dry clothes. There's wifi, air conditioning if you need it, a hairdryer and iron, even bikes if you want them. We were met by Gianluca who was very welcoming, gave us a map of the area, and talked about places of interest, restaurants etc. A welcome pack of breakfast goods, tea, coffee, milk and fruit juices was a wonderful surprise and much appreciated. We found it to be the perfect location, as 10 minutes in one direction takes you to the beach, and 10 minutes in another direction takes you to the lovely old town. The bikes were very useful, and once you get onto the cycle lane on the Lido it is very quick and easy to go to beautiful beaches such as Maria Pia, or further afield. We had a wonderful, relaxing time, and will return to Alghero and il Giardinetto in the future. One more thing- il Giardinetto is 50 metres from OK Pizzeria. Their pizzas are amazing, so definitely go there!

Stayed for a week in September and it was a real wrench to leave. Our initial contact was with Gianluca who provided detailed instructions of how to get to the property by various means of transport with costs for each. We decided on the bus as it only cost €1 and not only did Gianluca tell us which bus to get but also sent a map of the walk from the bus stop in town to the apartment. (10 mins) On our arrival we were met by the owner Guiseppe and shown to our apartment and given a little time to settle before being visited by his wife Vincenzina who proceeded to make us some lovely coffee while giving us some local information. Vincenzina had a town map for us would some great places to eat and visit marked on it, she even had the prices marked! No kickbacks from eateries or tour guides here, every bit of information we received saved us money! To add to the value, we were offered the use of bicycles free of charge from the collection in the garden. Also, umbrellas were provided and seeing we had only travelled with hand luggage, Vincenzina gave us 2 beach towels. A generous welcome pack with coffee, milk, water and pastries and free wi-fi were also included. Kitchen had gas hob, microwave and fridge. Living area had sofa and tv, bedroom also had tv. Bathroom was spacious with shower, toilet, bidet and basin. I note from an earlier review that someone complained about the lack of hot water. We had no problems at all with the water, sometimes you just needed to give it a minute to heat up. The location was great too! 10 mins walk one direction to the old town and 10 mins in another direction to the beach. Supermarket is only 2 mins away and great pizza place only 1 min away. On our last day we checked out at 10.30 as stipulated but as our flight was not until evening we were given the key of a bathroom to freshen up/shower before departure and also to store our bags. This is not a 5 star hotel. It's a well ran, comfortable,clean establishment ran by good people with some nice extras thrown in. Recommended.
