Our family of four has just had one of the most memorable stays of our ten day trip in Sardinia at this hotel. The most charming couple greeted us upon arrival. The hotel is absolutely beautiful in the most authentic way. It is so clean and well cared for. The pool area and gazebos are both inviting and peaceful as you are looking at the mountain scenery beyond the property. The family that runs it took the most amazing care of us and I will not soon forget their warm smiles and effort to communicate with us as we only speak English. We went to Benetutti to explore a 12th century thermal bath that was simply amazing but what we found was this sweet family at Hotel S’Astore! The dinner at the hotel was delicious and the local wines they served us were excellent. The morning coffee and breakfast served with a gentle smile from the sweetest couple I’ve met on our month long travels through Europe. Sardinia is a beautiful place but this is the real charmer of the island. Best two nights of sleep. Excellent stay!

“A real hidden gem”

We travelled to Benetutti to visit relatives in Burgos. Not sure what to expect we were very impressed with this hotel. The hotel itself is a real hidden gem, spanish influences the hotel is very clean and comfortable. we booked a room that had a balcony with local views. I was surprised to see a very spacious pool area. The breakfast was great all that was required and dinner in the hotel was very nice. Although we dont speak italian and they dont speak english we managed to converse very well. I was very impressed with this hotel and would definately recommend anyone looking for countryside accomodation

Where do I begin. Stayed here for our family holiday that we have worked hard throughout the year for. I have noticed that there are hardly any recent reviews. The hotel is a little gem situated away from any touristic hustle and bustle which for us is perfect. With a car you are about an hour from everything. Throughout our stay we felt we were the only ones there! We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. So positive aspects; quiet family run business, we had lunch several times and it was cooked fresh and delicious. Waitress very friendly and spoke a little English. Coffee amazing. Very clean. Decorated shabby chic. Loved the feel it gave. Negative points; feels like a ghost house as it can be dark and struggled to find staff around if we wanted anything. No one speaks any English at all except for the one waitress and we struggled to explain when things went wrong. We always made an effort to speak in Italian with google translate in hand but felt that we struggled. Definitely not a 4 star... rooms were extremely hot and air conditioning is not very effective, it broke down the last night, no one around to tell. The older lady is very miserable, tried getting a smile out of her and failed! Breakfast; all sweet things mainly. Everything kept running out and there was a failure to replenish efficiently. Had to keep telling the one waitress one by one as they ran out as it clearly isn't common sense to look around see what is finished and top up. No variation in breakfast. No rush to accommodate. Very frustrating. Conclusion: we spent 9 days here. I love the fact that it is family run. They all seem to live there as the children who are well behaved are always on site. It feels that you are visiting family and I like that. I just feel that there is a lack of enthusiasm to run this place. The fact that no one has made a little effort to speak anything other than Italian is a stumbling block as when something went wrong both parties are unable to get points across. For example first 2 days couldn't get any warm/hot water in the shower. It took 2 attempts before it we worked out that it takes about 3 minutes to warm up. Nothing is explained when you arrive. When the air conditioner broke down it was too late to alert anyone so we suffered in 40 + heat. The a4 sheet that was given explained restaurant times and even though we arrived at 10pm and the the restaurant stated it was open until midnight, the kitchen was closed. For me personally it's the small things that matter. A smile, a little help with where to go, where to eat. Being asked if we are comfortable. There are not enough storage areas, 1 mirror, 2 plug sockets. No bins in the room. Just a small toilet one. This place struggles with the basics. T.v is pointless, we would of liked to of been asked if we wanted a mini fridge which we saw were available 2 days before we left. Would of been nice to have been told! It is such a shame that I feel this place is lacking when in fact it could be amazing with such a small amount of effort. Wifi is non existent so shouldn't really be listed. This doesn't bother me as I love the fact that it's rustic and you don't go on holiday to be on technology every 2 mins. I do recommend this place if you want quiet and serenity without luxury. Just peace and quiet and be prepared to drive!
