Residence Barbara

“Great Experience.”

It was our first experience at Residence Barabara in Trapani, but I hope it's not our first and last. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful, clean, tidy, quiet and well appointed. The residence is at the best central location.

“Great value”

The rooms are clean and comfortable and excellent value. Be aware that they are up two or three flights of stairs. There appeared to be plenty of street parking and cost was cheap. No breakfast provided although electric kettle in rooms for tea/coffee. Cafes for breakfast not too far walk.

“Easy place to explore the old city”

This was another great place in our trip through Sicily. We had a lovely two-room apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom. The facilities were modern despite the fact it is located in an old house. It is a walking distance to the old town of Trapani. There is no parking on location, but there is a public free parking a bit further away by the seaside. It is at a walking distance and is safe. As this place is only a residence, they do not provide breakfast. However, there is a small coffeeshop at the street corner just across the entry. Continental breakfast was fine there. The young lady that manages the residence has sent me a message prior to arrival to inquire about the time we would be there. She was extremely nice. She even offered us a package full of local specialties (cookies). We really enjoyed being there and the rate was absolutely fantastic.

I always believe that constructive critisism is good critism given in order for you to frie with the task. The hostess Annalisa is WONDERFUL very helpful and sweet, downside is that it is first and foremost Residence Barbara I am reviewing and not the varetager/ owner . I always believe that constructive critisism is good critism given in order for you to frie with the task. The hostess Annalisa is WONDERFUL very helpful and sweet, downside is that it is first and foremost Residence Barbara I am reviewing and not the varetager/ owner . The apartment was lovely .2 large bedrooms, comfortable beds , nice aircondition in working order, and since this is March ,with heat. As I am an " elderly" male, downside were that there are a Lot ,I mean a LOT of stairs. I have problems with my ancles and knees, so this was not good. I am also a little large around the middle , and the shower cabine was til small for me to get inside. I mentioned this and was told this would be looked into.( Smiley :-) ) Now the Kitchen. My wife were looking forward to cooking some local seafoods, but the cooking facilities can not even Cook a pot of water in 15 minutes let alone bring water to boil in the Espresso pot. And cooking and egg or an omelette or anything else, was not possible. I think the reason is that the cooker is hooked Up to 220 volts instead of 360 .Annalisa. Please look into this and fix it,please. If not for us ,then for future guests. The top terrasse is beautiful, but please let your guests know how to switch in the lights on up there. Found a some " lightswitches" but could not get Them to Work. Shopping: Very far to a supermarket , but a few smaller shops in the area for nessecities. This place and building etc. Has potential for a higher rating , but at this point I can only give 3 stars. Annalisa please state in your description that your place is not suitable for the elderly,handicapped or persons who has difficulties climping stairs. Would be highly appreciated.
