The hotel is nicely situated overlooking the lake and in between El Peñol rock and the town. Easy access everywhere by tuktuk. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly - many speak some English. We even received assistance on hiring the pontoon boat for a lake cruise and also our airport transfer… lisää

The hotel is nicely situated overlooking the lake and in between El Peñol rock and the town. Easy access everywhere by tuktuk. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly - many speak some English. We even received assistance on hiring the pontoon boat for a lake cruise and also our airport transfer. The pool is very clean and refreshing and with a children's pool as well as a large jacuzzi. This is a moderate hotel when compared to N American standards and at great rates. Rooms are a little smaller, but clean and with a balcony and small fridge. The included breakfast was perfect - hot dishes and fresh fruit are served. The rooms overlooking the dam (north) were quieter than those overlooking the parking lot. Need to stay at least 2-nights. We would gladly stay here again!

We decided to go explore the Guatape area and this hotel was recommended to me by a local. The hotel is just past the great rock on the outskirts of the main city. The views are surprisingly good, you have views that face El Peñol, the main attraction in the area. But there is also a huge artificial lake that is part of a hydroelectric power plant towards the back; that’s where our room was. The room was smallish, but the view to the lake was exceptional. The bathroom was spacious considering the room itself, hot and cold water worked well. There is no air conditioning in the hotel, but you have a fan in case you need it. The elevators worked well, we were on the 3rd floor, the pool is well maintained but cold. What surprised me was the whirlpool: It was actually heated (Hot to be precise), and this is where I spent most of the time by the pool. In addition, the pool itself is supposed to be heated according to the maintenance workers by mid-December. The weather turns cool at night due to the lake’s proximity so this is a good idea. The breakfast was typical local fare: Eggs and sausages, bread, 2 types of bread, coffee and OJ. The staff was excellent in every way and very attentive.

“Small bed!”

Ok hotel with very small rooms and extremely small bed. Almost not room for 2 people in the bed. Rooms are clean, and staff are very nice and helpfull. Pool area is ok. Breakfast is only served from 07:30 - 09:00, so missed it.

We booked here as it seemed to have the best reviews in Guatape. The receptionist was helpful (she assisted with Google Translate). Our room was tiny with a tiny bed. We booked here as it seemed to have the best reviews in Guatape. The receptionist was helpful (she assisted with Google Translate). Our room was tiny with a tiny bed. The mini bar fridge was empty and off. Although there were only two lots of guests in the hotel we were placed in adjacent rooms and, as our neighbours were two young lads, we soon discovered the almost total absence of sound insulation so changed rooms (the receptionist was good about this). The only deal we could get at the hotel was for full board so we eat alone in the bare dining area. There was no choice of food but it was edible. There was nowhere to sit (no lounge) and the bar was shut although the receptionist did get me a beer. The pool/spa was occupied by a party who were non resident so was not inviting. The views were ok if not wonderful. The rooms were clean and the hotel was new. I am sure that the place comes alive with Colombian families at weekends but it is not suitable for independent travellers like ourselves. We had booked for two nights but left after one. If they want to appeal to International travellers they need to up their game a bit and provide more facilities.
