This review is long overdue. I stayed at El Cielo during my very first trip to Colombia a couple of years ago, and I had the most amazing time thanks to their fantastic accommodations, the superior customer service, the delicious food, and more. What a beautiful hotel that is tucked into this lively neighborhood with plenty to do, eat, and enjoy. The staff were top notch, and I mean everyone! They were super friendly and very helpful. The rooms were nicely appointed, perfect for couples who would like a romantic getaway, but good for families too. I actually visited with my young son, and he enjoyed the stay just as much. We even met another family with children around his age and they became fast friends. El Cielo was a beautiful slice of heaven for me and I love telling people about it, when they consider visiting Medellin. It’s a hip and lux place I would be delighted to stay again. Thank you, Team El Cielo, for your wonderful service and making my son and I feel so welcome!

It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with an impeccably trained staff that made checking in and the entire stay a pleasure. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with an impeccably trained staff that made checking in and the entire stay a pleasure. Sadly my husband and I got sick in Medellín and did not leave the hotel for 2 days. Can’t say I even missed the city- loved lounging on the pool deck, eating in the hotel and generally getting pampered. We had a concierge helping us with reservations and suggestions, and felt completely spoiled during our stay. Felt happier here than I would at the Ritz or a four seasons.

“Amazing hotel and restaurant in the heart of Medellin.”

This is a fantastic hotel in the heart of El Poblado district in Medellin. The service is impeccable, and there is a Michelin-starred restaurant on-site that is incredibly affordable for the quality of the food you get. We did the 17-course tasting menu, and it was unbelievable.

The lobby is on an upper floor. We checked in late night and they were so kind and accommodating. We had great welcome cocktails. The suite is small for luggage and 2 people. I loved the bathtub in the room. The hotel is in a great safe location. We used Uber to get to most places. The gym… lisää

I loved the bathtub in the room. The hotel is in a great safe location. We used Uber to get to most places. The gym and pool area are small. I don't know how more than 2 people could use the gym at one time. Breakfast was fantastic as were the drinks and the Tree of Life served in the bar area. Service at breakfast and in the bar was excellent. Dinner at El Cielo, the restaurant, was extremely disappointing and the service was shocking. In a city with so much great food, I am sad that we wasted a night of our trip at the hotel restaurant. I don't understand why it appears on a top food list. This was our only bad meal in Colombia. Try Idilico Restaurant, Carmen, Oci, and Zambra for great food! We used their recommended tour company for one day of sight seeing and then we engaged Medellin de Cerca for another day and we thought Oscar at Medellin de Cerca was much more engaging!
