“Great rooms without the craziness of the city”

Every time I visit Cucuta, I stay at This hotel. Love the service , the facilities and the rooms and big and comfortable. The food is too pricey but it’s good. Have hosted family gatherings by the pool and they have provided a great service considering we had a large party of about 30 people.

I have been traveling Colombia for over 10 years and the truly genuine care and concern and friendly attitude that EVERYONE at this hotel showed me and my guest during our 4 day stay was superb! Yes there are always issues with something during a hotel stay but what this hotel staff does right is that they truly listen and care about your comfort and satisfaction. Again the whole staff should be given an award, from the front desk that welcomes you with a smile and greeting to the housekeepers and meseros who attend to the restaurant table guests, this hotel should be the standard. I have not experienced a more consistent friendly and caring attitude from a hotel staff in all of Colombia that comes close to what I experienced here, this hotel "gets it". Yes the rooms are clean, they are spacious, the grounds are indeed kept spotless, the breakfast is delicious, the pools and amenities are enjoyable, the wifi works great, the hot water in the shower is very hot but at the end of the day it is the hotel staff that made my stay perfect. No hesitation I will recommend and I will return!

Every spot of the hotel is spotless at all times. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious, super clean. The breakfast is delicious and with great variety and the staff is always pleasant and helpful.

We stayed at the Hotel Bolivar recently while attending an event in Cucuta. The hotel is in a very busy area of town and traffic can be difficult around it sometimes. However, since it is an enclosed space, you can get out of it all. The layout of the hotel is different. This is not a building but a series of small buildings or bungalows. The pools are in the interior spaces and they are decent. Rooms are hit and miss. I was with a group and some of the rooms felt tired and old while others looked ok. The A/C is noisy and the beds are not very comfortable. Wifi is free but it is very slow and spotty. My main complaint was the food. You should not probably judge a Hotel by the food, but since it was included, there is no way around it. The portions were adequate, but it was hit and miss (more miss than hit) around properly cooked food with the right level of salt, sugar, etc. It felt like eating at a cheap restaurant. All in all, I'd say the Hotel is good enough but probably you should get your food elsewhere.
