the view was beautiful and the hotel was only a few minutes walk to the parikia town center. the walk does consist of a stretch along a busy road which we didn’t mind but we also never walked it after dark. the hotel is small/basic and the amenities mirror that. breakfast was light but included. … lisää

the view was beautiful and the hotel was only a few minutes walk to the parikia town center. the walk does consist of a stretch along a busy road which we didn’t mind but we also never walked it after dark. the hotel is small/basic and the amenities mirror that. breakfast was light but included. be aware that the rooms do not have lotion/moisturizer or conditioner stocked. staff was friendly and arranged for transfer to and from the port as well as a buggy rental. “adults only” was not enforced during our stay. another thing that didn’t bother us much but it is worth noting.

Unfortunately we were moved to Parea from their sister property Parea Blue Zone due to unexpected flood of two weeks ago. This was informed one day before and we had no other option than staying at Parea, what we didn't like was the atitude of the young lady receptionist a bit arrogant, we got stressed by the number of calls and whatsapp messages. The Parea is OK, nice view but remote location from the city centre, basic OK breakfast, didn't like the vibe too much, other staff very pleasant

“Okay choice, the walk from the hotel a bit annoying”

This was a nice hotel, but is location was just a little bit far from town to make it an easy walk. It meant walking along a busy road which got tedious pretty quick. We had a car for some of our rental and it was like musical chairs getting a park, and getting in and out was on a pretty bad road. … lisää

This was a nice hotel, but is location was just a little bit far from town to make it an easy walk. It meant walking along a busy road which got tedious pretty quick. We had a car for some of our rental and it was like musical chairs getting a park, and getting in and out was on a pretty bad road. The room was lovely and appointed well. The staff weren’t rude but were a little bit cold compared to everywhere else we went in Greece.

Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel, the location is lovely and a 10 minute walk to the main town where there is plenty of selection of restaurants and bars to see the sunset from. Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel, the location is lovely and a 10 minute walk to the main town where there is plenty of selection of restaurants and bars to see the sunset from. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean with a nice chilled pool area. It is officially a room only hotel, however they put a spread on every day for breakfast between 9-11 which was a lovely treat. There were only a couple of downsides when we stayed at the hotel but they did impact on our first impression of the hotel. Firstly there appears to be some false advertising online when choosing a room. The room types show multiple different photos but lead to a false impression of which room you think you have booked. Although some of the rooms have the same description, they do differ. We expected a double balcony and a hammock but ended up with a single balcony and a swing. It didn’t really affect our holiday but it did leave us feeling disappointed when we first arrived. We thought it would have been better if the rooms were individually advertised so you know what you are booking. Secondly the hotel assured us they would sort out a taxi for us to pick us up from the port. They told us it would be a set price of €25 regardless of traffic etc. The taxi picked us up but wanted the cash in advance and told us it was a minimum Of €37. Despite telling the driver the hotel told us it was a set price we had to pay €37. On telling the hotel this, they didn’t seem that bothered but said they would ring the company. They never told us the outcome of this so a couple of days later I had to ask them if they had investigated the overcharging of the taxi. Again they didn’t seem that bothered but told us some police men had been hanging around in the port so the drivers were having to charge minimum fares of €37. It just seemed very poor customer service to offer us a set price then not be bothered when we were overcharged, had we known this we would have just arranged to collect our hire car to be picked up from the port. Instead we had it delivered to the hotel. Overall we had a lovely stay but certain areas of advertising/customer service could be improved.

If a hotel's aesthetic and vibe is the thing that matters to you most, and Parea's 'look' is up your street, you'll love this place. Bit of an inexplicable mixed bag... and a bit style over substance. But in terms of substance some things are really lacking... firstly the hotel parking lot is tiny and reached via a single dirt track. We arrived late, found the lot full and had to then reverse 200 yards to get out and park off the main road. The following morning over breakfast there was much discussion between other guests asking others to move their vehicles to get out etc.... not really acceptable for a mid scale hotel, and we'd have rather been told up front about their limited spaces so we didn't have a stressful 20 mins trying to park. Our room was fine but the balcony tiny (despite being a 'panoramic suite') and some fixtures and fittings in the room v. cheap, e.g. toilet roll holder broken, budget TV set etc. Water chargeable at a euro a bottle, first time I've ever experienced that in a Greek hotel. Not much room around the pool and slippy surfaces... but hey it all looks great on insta ;-) On the upside, the breakfast, which the hotel for some weird reason refuses to call a breakfast presumably as doing so wouldn't be cool, is very nice. Also, regarding the comments about the long walk to town, its barely 15 mins and rather lovely after 5 mins walking down the main road. You then turn left and go along pretty lanes and past windmills with lovely views with steps down to the bay... just lovely.
