“Understated elegance in a beautiful setting”

Alegranza is such an elegant and lovely resort experience. We absolutely loved our two-bedroom condo which opened up onto a little grassy yard and led directly to the pool. Alegranza is such an elegant and lovely resort experience. We absolutely loved our two-bedroom condo which opened up onto a little grassy yard and led directly to the pool. The AC worked great and the decor was high-end yet unpretentious. The reportedly wonderful restaurant is still closed from Covid, but that didn't stop us from ordering Uber Eats and venturing out for some truly memorable meals. Our kids LOVED the pools and we loved the views and deep sense of relaxation. No one wanted to leave when our time was up!

Last year my family stayed at an all-inclusive resort in San Jose del Cabo, only for us to realize that was not the type of experience we were looking for. This year, my mom decided very last minute that she would like to escape the winter chill with another family trip to Cabo for Christmas. Alegranza had by far the best rate we could find for resort-quality rooms and grounds, so we decided to give it a try. We were assigned A303, a well-appointed 3 bed/3 bath unit that was everything we were hoping for and more! There were no issues with the A/C. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools and dinner wear. The closets were filled with ample amounts of extra towels and pillows plus some fun beach supplies (boogie board, beach chairs, etc). What’s more, view was delightful and the balcony was massive. My two (extremely minor) complaints with our condo were: 1) All the Teflon pans were scratched and therefore unusable. (However, there was a cast iron pan that we were able to use instead.) 2) Only one of the three bathrooms in our condo had a hairdryer, so we had to share. General Things to Consider: 1) These are vacation condos, not hotel rooms. You are expected to wash your own towels & dishes (in your private laundry facilities/dishwasher, with provided detergents) as needed. We were able to ask housekeeping for extra paper towels, trash bags, etc when necessary. 2) Security (at the entrance gate) is 24/7, but the front desk is not. 3) 2 out of the 3 pools are not heated and the heated pool isn’t kept very warm, but it’s hot in Cabo, so it shouldn’t matter.

“Average Unit in need of updating”

I rented a 2 bedroom penthouse unit #D502 for 32 days, the view was amazing. The unit however was not. The furniture is outdated and in rough shape and need of cleaning. I rented a 2 bedroom penthouse unit #D502 for 32 days, the view was amazing. The unit however was not. The furniture is outdated and in rough shape and need of cleaning. The kitchen dishes/utensils/pots etc were minimal, chipped and in need of replacement. The art on one wall was torn and the unit needs to be painted. The water pressure in the showers was very weak and the shower head was plugged, so we got some vinegar and baking soda and soaked it, which made it better. The sheets were worn out and all pilled and rough. The towels were okay. Overall this unit needs some updating and replacement of many things. The pictures online were not what they were in person.
