We chose Wakax for our wedding after falling in love with the property through photos and social media. When we visited in March, we immediately knew it was special. The setting was breathtaking, the food was incredible, and every person we met made us feel so welcome. We left feeling confident that our friends and family would love it as much as we did. When we returned in June for our wedding week, Wakax exceeded every expectation we had. The property itself is unlike anywhere we've ever been. The location feels almost otherworldly, surrounded by nature, cenotes, lagoons, and beautiful spaces to relax, explore, and connect. One of the things we loved most was that everything was on-site. From swimming pools and yoga classes to incredible meals and activities, there was never a reason to leave. The rooms are spacious, private, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Throughout our stay, everything was consistently clean and thoughtfully cared for. The room are so luxurious, from the stone accents, gorgeous linens, chic decor items, it's seriously incredible. What truly sets Wakax apart, though, is the staff. Every single member of the team was warm, attentive, kind, and genuinely happy to help. Our friends and family repeatedly commented on how wonderful everyone was. They remembered preferences, greeted guests by name, anticipated needs before we even asked, and somehow managed to make every person feel special. Hosting a wedding means bringing together a lot of different personalities, and the Wakax team handled everything with grace, patience, humor, and professionalism. Julio even personally came to help my husband who cut open his hand on our welcome party night! Despite hosting a crazy wedding celebration, the property remained peaceful and serene. The remote setting creates a sense of calm that's hard to describe until you experience it yourself. A special thank you to Julia, who manages events at the property. She is truly one of the most incredible people we've ever worked with. Her creativity, organization, calm presence, and dedication brought our wedding to life in ways we could never have imagined. She went above and beyond at every turn and helped create what was genuinely the coolest, most meaningful experience of our lives. So may friends and family came to us and told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to. We also highly recommend booking a Temazcal experience. It was one of the most powerful and memorable parts of our stay. The shaman was incredible, and for anyone interested in self-reflection, healing, or spiritual exploration, it is an experience worth having. Wakax gave us memories that will last a lifetime. Our wedding week was everything we dreamed of and more, and that is entirely thanks to this beautiful place and the extraordinary people who make it so special. Our friends and family are already planning their next trips! We will never forget it.

We cannot speak highly enough of Hacienda Wakax, from our serendipitous introduction to the property’s founder, to the pure magic, tranquility and escape that we experienced there. If you are looking to unplug, recharge and connect deeply with the natural world, there is no better place to go. The property has been impeccably curated with brilliance and creativity and integrates with nature on a level of perfection. Everything down to the most minute detail has been lovingly thought through and shows such commitment to five star service, ambiance and passion for history, gastronomy and the natural world. We loved how much of an emphasis was made on sustainability and conservation and left with such appreciation, respect and understanding of the Mayan culture, the enormity of the interconnected cenote ecosystem and the importance of preserving this precious geological wonder. The food was world class, the hospitality was unparalleled and the warmth and kindness of the staff truly made it feel like we were family. We were awestruck at the opportunity to explore the natural treasures of this property and so grateful for our experience.
