“Brand new, amazing food”

We just stayed at the Serena Condos this past weekend with our 2 yr old. It is a brand new condo residence, Restoration Hardware furniture, Pottery Barn dishes, Krups small appliances & L'Occitane toiletries. Our package included breakfast - delicious! and we opted to eat at the restaurant and order room service in the evenings... every dish was beautifully presented, simple ingredients, fresh seafood and amazing flavor. The only complaint we had was that we stayed in building 'B', which only seemed to have a few units ready for occupancy, so we had to call 5 times in one night to get the A/C fixed. There was also no safe installed yet and we had to ask for a few items (pasta strainer, etc.) and to get the internet working. There was also banging noise throughout the day while they were finishing work on a unit above us. I have no doubt that once the construction is 100% complete, it will be lovely. There is also construction on a condo across the water so constant noise from that as well. Serena is NOT located near the main strip (15 min cab ride) nor is it 'on the water', but on a small marina. There is nothing walking distance (unless you want to get in a round of golf), so you do need a car or need to take taxis (approx 90 pesos into town). I would also suggest that you have the driver stop off at the 'Mega' or 'Soriana' grocery store on your way in, as a downside is that they nickel & dime you on everything that is provided in the unit (ie. they leave for you coffee, soft drinks, wine bottles, cookies, cereal, milk, etc. but you will be charged for each item you consume --- even bottled water!). The pool is not heated... they say it is, but it is quite cold. They do have a hottub on the opposite side though, which is very nice. Overall, beautiful resort and food, a little isolated but if you want a quiet vacation or are there with a few other people, it is lovely. Enjoy!

Very Friendly andvattent staff, it has a good Golf Course And it is Fishing Boat Rental Oriented.

I have been going to Maz for the past 12 years and for the past 4 years I have been hearing about and waiting for the new course to open. Two years ago we played 9 holes and it was pretty rough. I have been going to Maz for the past 12 years and for the past 4 years I have been hearing about and waiting for the new course to open. Two years ago we played 9 holes and it was pretty rough. Last year(2011), we played 18 holes and it was great. A much shorter drive than going out to Estrella Del Mar, which is fabulous by the way. We also enjoy the caddies and the 2 old courses at El Cid. So now we finally have 3 excellent choices in Mazatlan.
