Loved our stay at the Three House Hotel. It's a rare combination of thoughtful design and real functionality. The apartment-style spaces are spacious, exceptionally comfortable, and impeccably clean—everything feels new and carefully maintained, with a layout that makes it easy to settle in. The design is modern and stylish without feeling overdone, giving the hotel a calm, confident atmosphere. Service is equally strong: the staff are helpful and proactive, with seamless communication via WhatsApp and smooth, efficient check-in and check-out. The location is central, within easy walking distance of the old town, restaurants, and the waterfront, yet just removed enough to feel calm. Having parking directly beneath the building is a major advantage, especially for exploring the island by car. The rooftop is a standout. With a pool, bar, and sweeping 360-degree views over Funchal, it’s equally suited to a quiet morning coffee or a relaxed evening. Highly recommend this place and look forward to our next visit!

We spent an excellent week at the Three House Hotel. It is perfectly located if, like us, you like city centre stays. We spent an excellent week at the Three House Hotel. It is perfectly located if, like us, you like city centre stays. It is a short walk from the famous Mercado dos Lavradores and opposite an excellent supermarket. The sea front, old quarter, main shopping streets and main bus stops are also easily walkable, Our apartment was clean, spacious, modern and well-appointed with its own kitchen. The used the heated swimming pool on the roof most days and enjoyed cocktails and music at the roof bar on a couple of occasions. The staff were always helpful with advice on the best ways to get to places on. the island as well as the best shops, restaurants, etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys staying at the heart of things.

We cannot fault this hotel. The staff, the facilities, the provision of free pastries each morning and the help and communication of all the staff was excellent. We cannot fault this hotel. The staff, the facilities, the provision of free pastries each morning and the help and communication of all the staff was excellent. The hotel is perfectly located for the exploration of Funchal and within easy reach of all public transport. The hotel was efficient at helping with trips and nice touches such as using first names to greet us and an efficient WhatsApp group for communication were appreciated. The rooms too were spacious and welcoming. We will certainly look to return and would recommend to anyone visiting the island.

Excellent apartment in a very friendly hotel. Sid gave us lots of recommendations on best restaurants, places to see etc. The location of the hotel is excellent , next to the main market. Easy walk to town, harbour, and lots of good restaurants. They have a roof terrace ,which is ideal to sit and read on a sunny day, even in January temperatures reached 22 . (Needed sun tan location to prevent burning ) The hotel has a roof top pool ,and a 3rd floor restaurant, (if one didn’t want to go out ,) The hotel was full of small surprises i.e. they supplied us croissants every day for free!!!!!! Changed towels and beds every 2 days. And Parking in their underground car park was also free. The hotel is on a busy street , and you have some slight traffic noise , even though hotel is double glazed. However, Traffic died after around 11pm We enjoyed our 3 weeks at the hotel, it was ideal to give us a wonderful introduction to Madeira.
