Everything about this hotel was stunningly beautiful, beyond all expectations, including: the friendliness of the staff (special shout-out to Paul, who greeted us on arrival and gave us lots of useful information about the hotel and local area); the generous size of the room; the quality of the bedlinen ( we had the best nights’ sleep we’ve had for a long time) No; the fact there are two pools; the tennis court; the woodland walks; the view of the sea inlet; the amazing breakfasts; the luxurious sunbeds. I could go on!

“A Perfect Perch for A Fantasy Stay in Southern Brittany”

This gorgeously renovated estate is quite possibly perfect. Attention has been given to every detail. We stayed in a ground floor room in the oldest part of the hotel, with a terrace and view of the manor, the water and the manicured grounds. Our bed was beyond delightful, with some of the most comfortable linens I have had the pleasure to wrap myself in. The room was large and light-filled, with lovely antique touches in a thoroughly modern environment. The bathroom was large and well-designed (with a tiny quibble about the shower - my husband's 6 foot tall body creates water splashes on the floor from the shower when the shower is not fully enclosed, though I do recognize that this room is disability-friendly, so I am not sure this issue can be remedied!!) We were greeted with lovely (and surprise) "welcome" gifts - a set of travel friendly Sothys products and a gorgeous silk pouch with ylang-ylang sachets - thank you!!! And Paul, the first person we met when we arrived, could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming - thank you Paul, for your fantastic introduction to this gorgeous place!!! Another thank-you to Arnaud, who cheerfully helped us with some of our itinerary planning while we were in residence. The spa, which both my husband and I enjoyed while we waited for our room to be ready, is delightful. My husband had what he characterized as one of the best massages of his life (this from a person who has had hundreds of massages), and my facial was nourishing and relaxing. Both the outdoor and the indoor pools are well-maintained and welcome additions. And on to the food. Oh the food! The dinner we enjoyed in the gastronomic restaurant was phenomenal. We chose to eat off the a la carte menu, mostly because the courses that most appealed to us were not all on the set menus. Incredible!! One of the most surprising things was the butter - a huge mound of deliciousness delivered to the table and carved off into a reasonable portion for the table - I could eat this every day (and gain 500 pounds and still be happy!) It seemed as if the butter had been milk from the cow earlier in the day (and likely was). The freshness of the food and artistry of the presentation are unmatched. And the gorgeous setting - the connected building used solely for the gastronomic restaurant (and possibly for events?) is the perfect physical location for such a special meal. The lighting, the spacing of the tables, the gorgeous grain of the stone on the tabletops, the plants (the room itself resembles a huge greenhouse), the dish- and glassware - everything was clearly meticulously curated and worthy of the Michelin recognition. Not to shortchange the breakfasts, which were plentiful, varied and delicious, and the dinners we had in Maison Alyette, the bistronomic restaurant, which were lovely as well. This is a very, very special place. Not inexpensive by any means, but worth every penny. Can't wait to return!!!

“Glorious hotel in a spectacular setting”

Favourite hotel! Already booked again for September. Chic, comfortable, spacious. Extraordinary setting. The rooms are beautiful, beds comfortable, and the attention to detail is apparent throughout.

Booked this hotel to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The room we booked was changed, without telling us, to a 'cosy room'. Room 205, do not book it unless you want the shower and wash basin to dominate a tiny bed room. No privacy and unsuited to the rest of the hotel which is good. We wer… lisää

Room 205, do not book it unless you want the shower and wash basin to dominate a tiny bed room. No privacy and unsuited to the rest of the hotel which is good. We were unable to change rooms as they were fully booked (apparently).
