For many years we have been visiting Le Lavandou for day trips during which we would almost always pass Beau Rivage. This year whilst staying elsewhere in the Var we decided to see Le Lavandou at night and made the Beau Rivage our base. Although we were only 2 people they gave us a family room in the annexe overlooking the garden. The room had a large double bed that was very comfortable with crisp, clean linen. There were also 2 full sized bunk beds that did not make the room crowded. The shower/toilet room was modern and excellently fitted out and with oodles of hot water on tap seemingly at any time. The breakfast wasn’t cheap at €13 per head but we found it to be excellent. Secure Parking was €10 per night. Reception spoke English which meant I didn’t have to use my poorest French. A pleasing experience.

“I last came here 30 years ago!”

Although much has changed at Le Beau Rivage in the last 30 years, including the owners, the hotel is still perfect for me (which is why I originally brought my young family here for 3 years in a row). Located just outside the hustle and bustle of town but within an easy walk of the centre, the hotel is almost on the beach so it is great for young families as well as grandparents who enjoy a stroll on the beach and a paddle in the sea. There is still plenty of parking in the hotel grounds, although they now charge for this; there is still no elevator in the hotel itself, but those with mobility problems can stay in the ground floor bungalow. The lack of modernity is more than compensated by the charm of a traditional family hotel and at a very reasonable price. Finally, the staff are very friendly and the breakfast is very good, I promise I won't wait another 30 years before returning!

“Excellent for a seaside stay”

Beau Rivage is clean, comfortable and perfectly located just across the road from the beach and in easy walking distance from the town centre. Beau Rivage is clean, comfortable and perfectly located just across the road from the beach and in easy walking distance from the town centre. We stayed in room 16 on the third floor (no lifts in case you have mobility issues) which was spacious with a very comfortable large double bed. The hotel is “no frills” and the breakfast is questionable value at €11 for the usual cold meats, pastries etc but it is perfect for a late summer short break.

“Nice hotel in prime location”

We stayed at the Beau Rivage for two nights in July and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is located at the seafront in the centre of Le Lavandou. We stayed at the Beau Rivage for two nights in July and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is located at the seafront in the centre of Le Lavandou. It has an excellent shadowy parking and generally makes a clean, friendly and comfortable impression. We had a room with seaview and a small balcony, located on the third floor and only reachable by stairs since the hotel has no elevator. People with limited physical skills might want to consider this and take a room on a lower floor. Noise isolation was excellent, beds were ok and the bathroom was a particular highlight with lots of room and a really excellent shower. The breakfast is average, but that is something rather normal in France. Le Lavandou itself is small but offers everything to make a beachlover happy, including some adequate restaurants and nice terraces. All in all a recommendable experience.
