My husband, sister and I recently returned from a holiday to the south of France and we loved our brief stay at this jewel of a hotel. Hotel Du Couvent is a very unique and special place. Tucked away in Nice's old city up a steep hill, once you walk into the gates you feel as if you are in the countryside as opposed to a lively city like Nice. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Total shout out to the fantastic manager, Mafoudia Toure who is professional and classy while at the same time being so warm and friendly and super helpful. Thank you to Pierre for all his kind assistance. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious - served either in the dining area or al fresco. There is a small spa that is very nice with a small indoor pool and hot tubs as well. Also a steam room, sauna and cold plunge. Outdoors there is a pool area which is a small walk from the main part of the hotel - we did not use as the weather was a bit cool. As the hotel is in old Nice - it is an easy walk to many fantastic restaurants and just about 5 minutes to the main promenade on the sea. If you are taking a taxi or uber, the old city street are off limits to cars near the hotel - so you will be let off a brief walking distance away or you can call the hotel for a pick up . Mind this if you're taking a taxi from the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

“Lovely hotel”

Beautiful hotel with a beautiful courtyard and a great location. We stayed for 2 nights in the Suite du Couvent which was lovely. A bit unsteady steps from the bathroom to the bedroom/sitting room (and a low doorway) but otherwise very spacious and very nice. A well done conversion of a convent… lisää

A bit unsteady steps from the bathroom to the bedroom/sitting room (and a low doorway) but otherwise very spacious and very nice. A well done conversion of a convent that still has the convent feel but with luxurious feel and amenities.

“Beautiful hotel”

This hotel is really lovely! The room was spacious and our view was so charming. I liked the bath products as well. The highlight for us was our first night there when we had dinner at the garden restaurant. I don't think this hotel wants its guests to order room service. That was a bit of a down… lisää

The menu was very limited. I also recommend reading the fine print about transportation to and from the hotel: cars cannot take you up to the hotel, but there is a buggy service provided if you call ahead. We didn't realize this and pushed (well, my boyfriend pushed) our suitcases up the big hill. All ubers must be called to the nearby library as a pickup spot. This is definitely outlined in email format when your reservation is confirmed but we clearly skimmed over that and missed it. Aside from that, I recommend this hotel and would go back!
