We have stayed in many hotels, both good and bad. From the very start we loved just about everything about FirstName Bordeaux, starting with the warm welcome from the reception. Among many things we really liked: underground parking lot, restaurant, bar, breakfast, location, eco-friendly philosophy, cleanliness, quirky but not too bizarre design, refillable water bottles with filtered water, and most of all the warm and friendly staff. We had conversations with total strangers in the elevator where we told each other how much we like this hotel and how we would stay again if we return to Bordeaux. Then, the night before we were to leave, I tripped on the sidewalk in the dark, landing on my face and knee, and began to bleed profusely. We returned to FirstName to ask for help. The receptionist called the ambulance, made us comfortable in the lobby before they arrived, brought clean towels for the blood, asked if there was anything else I needed. Most of all he was very reassuring at a time when we were quite frightened. The ER medical team insisted we stay in Bordeaux an extra day. FirstName’s reception made it easy to extend our stay, and to reserve 2 nights in the same room when we returned for the followup with the maxillofacial surgeon. They also helped us set up the appointment since we were unable to access the hospital website ourselves. Upon our return we even found a thoughtful welcoming note and a plate of delicious macarons. To recap, every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind, helpful, and caring. My husband and I are well aware of how lucky we were to be staying at FirstName when I had my nasty fall. We know that even the most professional of 5-star hotels could not have taken care of us the way the FirstName staff did. We are fans for life!
