“Convenient accommodation and good food with with a lot of variety”

The accommodation was good and the food very good with a lot of variety. Some tips for improvement: - Dinner starts at 19:00 h which is (too) late; 18:00 h would be better. - Bar closes at 22:00 which is too early, especially for visitors without children. - It would be good to have some entertainm… lisää

Overall it was a good break but it wasn’t what we expected of a 4 star accommodation. We booked through EasyJet holidays. Overall it was a good break but it wasn’t what we expected of a 4 star accommodation. We booked through EasyJet holidays. We went as a family of 4, and my mother who has mobility issues and uses a walking stick. The accommodation isn’t a hotel, it’s a complex with little bungalow type apartments and one main building housing the reception, restaurant and bar. We had one 2 bedroom apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment for my mum. They were clean and well equipped. They looked like they’d recently had a freshen up, recently painted and new bedding and mattresses. There was a kitchen area and dining table. Kitchen has microwave, fridge freezer, hob, kettle, toaster etc which is great but with us being all inclusive it wasn’t useful and the dining table takes up a lot of space. Toilet and shower are very small but again, clean. There was a nail sticking out on our shower door and as soon as we reported it to reception they had it fixed straight away, which was great. Housekeeping came every day to freshen up and leave clean towels. Most of the staff don’t seem to speak much English and our French is very limited but we got by and they were very friendly and helpful. They work very hard! The reception staff were very helpful prior to us arriving as I emailed to request a room close to amenities for my mum. The all inclusive option isn’t set up in a way we have experienced before, they have a breakfast/ brunch which runs 7am-1pm then dinner isn’t until 7-9pm. We found the time between offerings quite long, especially with the kids. They allow you to use take away boxes from the brunch, but that didn’t work for us. There are snacks put out in the bar area in the afternoon which is usually mini cakes and pastries but people are like vultures and were using their hands in the shared bowls which was absolutely disgusting so we didn’t eat that. A lot of the alcoholic drinks are only available at certain times of the day too but beer and wine all day. There is no ice cream for the kids. Food overall was good but pretty basic and a lot of the same each day. It was difficult for us as we have a picky eater. There are a few nice places to eat nearby which we used. You can walk to the beach within 10 minutes and to the little marina is a little longer. Uber is easy to use over there too. There is no entertainment provided by the hotel and the bar closes at 10pm so not much happening on site. Pool was big and very clean. No drinks or snacks allowed around the pool which was annoying. It says the pool is heated but it was freezing! The kids were still in there though. There are mosquitoes everywhere! We had some really nasty bites. Be prepared! There are activities around the complex including tennis, badminton, mini golf which we enjoyed but some of the equipment could be doing with being renewed. There is a great play park for the kids on site. It reminded me of a nice campsite. It definitely didn’t feel like a 4 star holiday but was fine for 4 nights. If you can get a cheap deal and have young children then it’s a fairly good option. Would I go back? Probably not. It wasn’t what we expected and left us feeling a little disappointed.

The food is not very elaborated, but for few days, it's OK. All inclusive is very appreciated mainly with the warm and drinks. Personal ae very friendly, at bar and cleaning service, very appreciated. 20 minutes walk to the port, shops, restaurants, 10 minutes to the beach (where dogs are not accepted). The buildings from the Family part could really use a good refresh to bring them up to modern standard. Miss sofa + loungers to relax in our own home. Dogs are accepted on leads inside the Sowell resort.
