“Lovely campsite, great for kids.”

We stayed at camping la Prairie for 4 days at the beginning of September. We were welcomed by a very friendly proprietor who although couldn't speak fluent English and us with our pigeon French managed to communicate well and she couldn't have been more helpful. We booked a camping pitch with electricity, pitches were ample and well maintained. During our stay our campervan needed a new tyre, the proprietor along with her husband and daughter assisted with booking in our vehicle, ordering the new tyre and giving us directions to the garage. perfect! Facilities were clean and typical of French campsites (bring your own loo roll, no toilet seats etc) and always had hot water. The indoor swimming pool was a real bonus as during our stay it rained....a lot! The outside areas such a pool and play area are well maintained and used and enjoyed by all. The location is great. We took our bikes and it took only 5 minutes through the cycle tracks opposite the campsite to get to the beautiful sandy beach and around 15-20 minutes to get into the town centre. The town was lively and had a great street leading off the beach which had an array of ice cream shops, this made our toddler very happy! Tips for future campers: Take a brush to sweep out your awning/ tent as the pitches are sand and it gets everywhere!!! Go and take a picnic to the beach and watch the horses riding by, it's just beautiful. On the whole a great stay, we will be back but earlier in the season as it appears come the first week of September the holiday season finishes and in France that means most things close down or are limited.

We are an English couple and have just returned from this campsite and can tell you we had the best holiday ever! This campsite gave us everything and more on our holiday. The campsite is very clean with great facilities including indoor and outdoor pools which are very well maintained As we camped our pitch was important and again that was brilliant as it was a great size and positioned so that you still have privacy. The site is pretty with lots of trees The campsite is in a great location with the local bus going past into St Jean de Monts every hour and only one euros This campsite also offers great snacks We wanted a true French experience and this campsite truelly gave us this Madam V. Her son and staff were all on hand to help us with our French and also help those that don't speak the French language. This location favours cycling and the bikes routes are everywhere and a fantastic way to see everything and has some of the best beaches I've ever seen If you engage with the staff here they are very helpful and strive to make sure you are enjoying your stay.English is spoken here Entertainment was on hand for the children and adults alike Although you may not get a full English breakfast here you will get plenty of food on offer that is tasty and enjoyable including croissants baguettes and very tasty burgers!!! “Fantastic site”

We stayed for 12 nights at the end of July, the owner was very welcoming and spoke some English, we travelled as 3 outfits and had requested pitches together, we were given pitches next to all the facilities, which was great as it allowed the children to play freely without us worrying when they were out of sight. The facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean, fresh bread and croissants' can be ordered daily. There is also entertainment during the week and a weekly boule tournament. The owners are fantastic, and the site as a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this site for a family holiday.

“Not for English people”

We came for two weeks, we was looked after as soon as we got there but when we went in the snack bar to have some food there was nothing in English, when asked they said they didn't have a English menu. We came for two weeks, we was looked after as soon as we got there but when we went in the snack bar to have some food there was nothing in English, when asked they said they didn't have a English menu. We ended up being the only English family there, which then made us feel unwelcome 😞 The kids club was in French so my kids had nothing to do apart from go swimming every day. Which the swimming pool was ok but a lot of broken tiles round it so very dangerous for children. We spent our nights at our tent as the entertainment was for all the French people there. We wouldn't come back unfortunately as we didn't really have the holiday we expected 😞
