My wife and I went for 5 nights. Our room was clean and larger than a typical hotel room. Partial few of the "private" pool that we shared with 3 other rooms in our building. Bed slept fine. Kitchenette was basic but all we needed. Sliding glass doors and vaulted ceilings made the room feel even bigger. The bathroom was very adequate with a step in shower that let in outside light thru a large opaque window. We had a nice private deck with table and chairs. The room also had a table and chairs which I would have liked to be some larger. There was plenty of room for a larger table. A/C worked very good. The L' Astrolabe Restaurant on site was absolutely wonderful and delicious. The staff was very helpful and nice when needed them. There are many good restaurants in the village which is a short 2 minute drive away. Beaches were great. At many of the nearby beach areas of Orient beach the chairs were free if you show your Esmeralda card. They also give you free beach towels to use during your stay.

My wife and I recently took a trip to my favorite location on the globe to relax and enjoy; St. Martin FWI. It was my 9th trip to this island. In an effort to save a few Euros, I booked a studio in Orient Bay. After one night of the six of the trip, we both realized that it was way too small. We meet a couple at the market that were staying at Esmeralda. At 2 am I realized where were was just not going to provide us with the trip we looked forward to. The next morning we went to Esmeralda. Kevin at the front desk could not have been more helpful. He shared several options in terms of available rooms, and took us to look at one of the very top units on the property. We loved it, and I asked when we could move in given that it was 10 in the morning. He said, "how about now." What a fantastic resort. Each group of units has its own pool. Ours had a great view of the water. Only a five-minute walk to Coco beach, where chairs and umbrellas were included. There is a fantastic restaurant on the property that is open three nights a week. Make sure to get a reservation. It is located at a converted villa with many tables around the pool. The best filet I have ever had. Everyone at the resort, including housekeeping could not have been more helpful. Thank you Esmeralda for salvaging our vacation, and providing us with memories that will last a lifetime. “Perfect St. Martin first time visit”

We enjoyed our stay. All of our interactions with your staff members were always genuine and pleasant. We interacted with Morgan, Kevin and Asal (spelling?). We enjoyed our stay. All of our interactions with your staff members were always genuine and pleasant. We interacted with Morgan, Kevin and Asal (spelling?). We got the ocean view, room 468, which wasn’t the greatest view, but we did like where our room was situated. The housekeeping staff always did a nice job. Just a quick walk down the path to the beach was perfect. We are not fans of large resorts so this was perfect for us. Such a peaceful stay! Suggestions: have beach chairs/umbrellas available for customers so we don’t have to rely on beach bars. We had two negative experiences with Coco and then Bikini. I won’t get into that here as I know they are not your responsibility. Umbrellas at the pool would be great and a daily cleanup of the pool area too. The continental breakfast at Astrolabe was perfect, and we ordered salted breakfast a few times too. We had dinner there twice, once with live jazz singer and it was beyond delicious! We hope to return to St. Martin again and would definitely return to Esmeralda! Thank you for your hospitality.

“Esmeralda has lost it's luster”

We have been going to the Esmeralda since 2008. That being said the ES has become a worn out resort. It say's on the website that it was remodeled. that is not what we saw. We have been going to the Esmeralda since 2008. That being said the ES has become a worn out resort. It say's on the website that it was remodeled. that is not what we saw. The unit we where in was not kept up. The bathroom was bad. Mold and mildew in the shower, calking coming off, tiles cracked and broken. The doors were filthy they have not been wiped off for a long time. The Esmeralda need to clean up the resort. Next time we come we will look for a new place. what a shame.
