“Good location, very clean but old place, limited facilities”

The location is great; surrounded by forest and very cool and refreshing in the morning. Never stayed in a hotel with this "feature" ever. And very quiet. Next to the Hall of Opium and the Golden Triangle where we were heading. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom bungalows but these were accessible … lisää

The location is great; surrounded by forest and very cool and refreshing in the morning. Never stayed in a hotel with this "feature" ever. And very quiet. Next to the Hall of Opium and the Golden Triangle where we were heading. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom bungalows but these were accessible only by a long climb up stairs. You cannot drive up to the door like other places. Rooms are very clean and well-maintained but the décor is basic and old. They only have a restaurant, no other facilities. The restaurant feels like a school cafeteria. Service was excellent at the restaurant. Reception spoke English very well and the staff are thoughtful of visitors; it rained heavily 1 night and they called my room to park my car in the lobby as there might be hail! A great place to spend the night, visit the House of Opium and the Golden Triangle and then move on.

Arrived early evening to find we're the only guests This place shares grounds and architecture with the hall of opium so if you look for that it's easy to find I liked it. But I'm a fan of bungalows on concrete stilts. Think Le Corbusier meets the garden city concept There is a sort of faded 70s grandeur about it It was weird being the only people in the whole place at night even the staff went home Staff were lovely like everywhere in northern Thailand It was cheap so good value.

“Clean but Dated Furnishings, Wonderful Birdsong in the morning”

Quite easy to find by car, off the main road against a hill and after the Hall of Opium (which was good and seemed to have an endless stream of visitors). The stay did not start off promising. Quite easy to find by car, off the main road against a hill and after the Hall of Opium (which was good and seemed to have an endless stream of visitors). The stay did not start off promising. The room was clean, but furnishings are basic and rather dated. Perhaps it was low season ; we seemed to be the only guests there ! During the night there was a heavy thunderstorm and there were 2 power trips lasting about 3-5 seconds each - rather alarming. Had to have torches within reach, especially in the enclosed bathroom. The next day though, wonderful birdsong woke us up so that made it the highlight of the stay.
