We stayed here as part of a tour visiting hell fire pass and the "death" railway. The different feeling provoked by the both were poles apart. The horror of man's inhumanity was moving but the calm experienced at this hotel was soothing. Staff were attentive but not intrusive, food simple but extremely tasty and satisfying. The room basic but somehow fulfilling. The sound of running water extremely soothing. The whole experience was soooo relaxing after 3 nights in Bangkok..... Ps the village tour is a must!

From the moment you take the longtail boat from the pier to the floating rafts, you know this stay is going to be special. The boat ride itself is already a fun and memorable experience. Upon arrival, our luggage was taken to the room for us, which was very much appreciated. There is no electricity and no hot water, but that is exactly part of the charm. The location is absolutely idyllic, surrounded by nature, and it is incredibly peaceful, the perfect place to completely unwind. The room is clean and basic, but very comfortable. We loved having a hammock, a dining table, and loungers to relax and enjoy the river views. Everything you need is there, without unnecessary luxury. Dinner was excellent: a delicious Thai-style set menu with a great variety of dishes. Breakfast is served buffet-style and was more than sufficient. Drinks are available at the bar, and in the evening the resort becomes extra magical with the soft light of petroleum lamps. The staff deserve special mention: everyone was extremely friendly, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and memorable experience. One small tip: bring a good lantern, preferably a standing one , so you don’t have to shower in the dark. We would definitely come back.

Great experience; wish we could stay longer. If you're into swimming in a river, sunbathing, kayaking, might be worth deicating half a day at the resort itself. It is chilly and really dark at night, as there is no electricity at the rooms (only available along with WiFi at the large reception rest area) but that makes for a wonderful starry night sky which is rare for city dwellers like myself. Really pleasant in the daytime, with the sun and the running waters. A senior staff, Suwin, was very engaging and shared with us the story of the Mon people, an ethnic group from Myanmar, and their connection with the resort, which seems to be a partial social enterprise that uplifts their community, employing them as staff. He also took us on a morning walk to see their nearby village and lifestyle, nothing touristy and for free. In the evening, we enjoyed the Mon dance at the resort's floating stage very much. Not many staff (the young Mon locals) speak English but it's fine. Worth at least 1 or 2 night's stay!
