“Goes beyond what a hotel should”

I'm writing this on behalf of my mother, Joyce — and I want everyone who reads this to understand that what I'm about to describe goes so far beyond a hotel review that I barely know where to start. My mum is 85 years old. She has been visiting the Saray Hotel in Hisarönü for over 20 years - first with my late father James, and after he passed away, she has continued to return year after year. She loves this place. The staff always put her in her favourite room. They make her a proper English tea without being asked. Behind the bar, there is a plaque we had made in honour of my dad - and it is still there. That tells you everything you need to know about what kind of place this is. But none of that is why I'm writing this review. At the end of her most recent visit, my mum checked out of the hotel and made her way to the airport. She fell ill before she could board her flight, and found herself in hospital in Turkey, alone, at 85 years old. I contacted the hotel simply to let them know what had happened. I asked for nothing. No one did. The owner, Farty, his son, another member of staff, and another guest - a friend my mum had made during her various stays - got in the car and made a four-hour round trip to the hospital to visit her. They brought flowers. They brought cake. They brought gifts. And when they arrived and realised she didn't have some basic essentials - a toothbrush, toothpaste - they went out and bought those for her too. Nobody asked them to do any of this. They just did it. My mum is not a number on a booking system to the people at the Saray. She is family. And on the day she needed people most, in a foreign country, far from home, they showed up. Completely unprompted, with kindness and warmth that most people will never experience from anyone - let alone a hotel. If you are looking for a clean, friendly, well-located hotel in Hisarönü with good food and genuinely lovely staff, the Saray delivers all of that. But what this hotel really offers is something money cannot buy and no star rating can measure. These are good people. Exceptional people. My mum will be going back. So would anyone with any sense.

“Great stay, lovely hotel in a perfect location”

“Great time”

I wish people would stop writing bad reviews about saray. As we had a great time. Staff was fantastic. We had a family room. Pool was great cleaned every morning. Food and drink was a good price. If you're bringing food and drink into the hotel. Then be more discreet. As some familys take the Mick… lisää

“Lovely Hotel great location”

I would just like to write a review about the Saray Hotel, I joined my sister there for a week in August, the hotel was very clean, the staff were so lovely and friendly. Breakfast was very Turkish but was fresh and plentiful. The location of the hotel is great and I will be going back very soon.
